How to print in a portable way?

Take a look at fop at http://xml.apache.org/fop/
You generate some xsl formatting objects, and it dumps it out in the
format of your choice (print, ps, pdf, etc...) I use it to pretty print a
grocery list at home and it works very well for that, but I've never used
it in a production environment.
