Python IDE ERIC3

Dear newsgroup,

as I read in the german magzine "LINUX users" about the new python IDE 
ERIC3, I was realy keen on using it. But I had probelms to install it on 
  my system (Suse8.1, blank standard installation + python2.2 PentiumII-350)

First of all I installed (as Detlev Offenbach recommended on his website 
http://www.die-offenbachs.de/detlev/eric3.html )  PyQt snapshot 20021122 
and the respective QScintilla version.

I found the following site with rpms:

rpms:
qscintilla-20021122-1.i586.rpm
PyQt-20021122-3.i586.rpm

After this I execute
'python install.py' from the eric-3.0.0 as described in the README

When I try to start eric3 it outputs only a german error message:
"Speicherzugriffsfehler" or someting like that which means in Engish:
"memory sharing error"

Is there anybody out who has sucessfully installed ERIC3 on Suse8.1? I 
am grateful for every hint.
