enhancing ftpmirror.py ?

Hello,

I recently discovered ftpmirror.py in the tools\scripts directory of the 
Python distribution.
It's purpose is to "Mirror a remote ftp subtree into a local directory 
tree."
How long had I been looking for this! And it was on my hard disk!

I was surprised to see that it works only in one direction (download).
The other direction would be "uploading" or "synchronizing from a local 
directory tree to a remote FTP subtree".

- Did anybody think already about modifying ftpmirror.py so that it 
supports both directions ?
- Does anybody know about an existing Python tool which does the other 
direction?
