SSL error: 2.1.1 works but 2.2 doesn't

Log a bug on sourceforge.net - if you don't, it's unlikely to get
addressed. The chances of it being addressed for 2.2.1 are so close
to zero as to be ignored, but there will be a 2.2.2, so it'd be nice
to fix it for that.
