Pyxie, anyone?

I have problems using the pyxie library for processing XML. This page

  http://pyxie.sourceforge.net/

says that "To run Pyxie, you need two things:

- A Python distribution
- The XML package for Python [...]"

I have the latest versions of both and still I get the error "ImportError: 
No module named pyxie" when I try to import the module. Has Pyxie been 
phased out from the XML package?
