8-tracks were audio tapes.  Endless loop, 4 programs (stereo) per tape, 
nice satisfying <ka-Thunk> noise as it switched tracks automatically at the 
end of the loop.  Popular in the 60's and 70's.  Lost in the head-to-head 
competition with cassettes.
