Wrappers for websites

Hi,
Is there a Python library out there that allows one to write wrappers
for Web sites ? This is a very popular topic in academic research and a
lot of people do their stuff in Java. I've been working with 4DOM and
even the Python HTML module. However, the brittle nature of sites makes
a wrapper library very appealing.
