It IS murky, but I hear that Java can easily talk to StarOffice,
which was my point -- so I can automate StarOffice with Python,
in a way that's portable between, e.g., a Windows '98 box and
a Linux Mandrake 8.0 one, both running StarOffice & Python.  I
tend to have some doubts that I can do this with Corba (as you
say, I don't know of any corbification of StarOffice either),
COM (no COM on the Linux box), or other ways...?
