One can certainly be more productive in Python than in C++.  There's
another, slightly orthogonal factor, as well:  As a programmer by
profession, I write C++ code at work.  When I come home and want to do
recreational programming, I'm much more likely to be interested in
programming in some other, simpler language, than in C++.  Python fits
that bill very nicely.
