Generating a random number

Thank you Magnus.

In one of my many attempts at trying to generate random numbers I put
random.py in the idle directory (it must have been my first attempt).  I
moved it to my programs directory and lo and behold IT WORKS!!!

Thanks to everyone who has helped with this perplexing problem.
