SVG and Python?

I am looking for a Python module implementing SVG (Scalable Vector
Graphics, http://www.w3.org/TR/2001/REC-SVG-20010904/). I haven't found
anything on Parnassus, various SVG sites, or Google.

Specifically, I would love to obtain a module that renders SVG in a
Tkinter Canvas. Does such a thing exist? If so, does it have a usable
license (GPL, or LGPL)?
