who uses Python or Ruby, and for what?

Mind you, if someone had implemented the necessary gee-whizzery to
make 

for line in file:
    ...

do what it will do in Python 2.2 (i.e. making a file object a sequence
& all that) I suspect that we'd all have looked at him/her a little
strangely.
