One should be able to post _incorrect_ advice without being ridiculed.

This isn't a comment about this particular thread; it's only a comment
which became necessary _because_ of the thread. I surely hope you
see the difference. I'm not pointing any fingers at any people; to the
contrary, the _both_ of you seem like intelligent, amiable folks.

What I _am_ saying that  this thread has degenerated into something
counter-productive, and perhaps between the two of you, you can
figure out how to keep things productive.

I _don't_ want this place to become c.l.l. That place is filled with jerks.
