Mastery of the *language* shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks,
withstanding perhaps some of Python's esoterica. The various different
modules and so forth are another matter altogether.

If a new programmer couldn't be VERY effective in Python within a week
or two, I'd be seriously worried about that programmer. :)
