Andrew Koenig graciously pointed out that my statement isn't quite 
right...

The actual changes are that all input and output conversions must 
be correctly rounded.  The current standard gives ranges where they
must be rounded correctly, and the changes extend that to the entire 
required conversion range.  I don't recall if the conversion range 
itself will be extended.  By and large, systems already fit this.

Jason, who realizes that if exact conversion were always possible, 
this thread wouldn't exist...
