Saving history in interactive Python

You can use IDLE or Pythonwin (Windows) to do that.

It is such a pain using the command line version of Python. If you
make a syntax error you have to retype the whole line. It would be
nice if there was something similar to DOSKEY where you use the up
arrow and view/edit prior lines.
