installing 2.x over the top of 1.5.2

Don't know if this qualifies as clean.  I have the rpm'd 1.5.2 under
/usr.  Then I installed py 2.x under /usr/local.  During our
(extended) transition period, we use shell scripts which set
PYTHONHOME and PYTHONPATH before calling python1.5 or
python2.0.  Once all is well in 2.x, we'll remove the rpm'd 1.5.2, and
(conceivably) install 2.x into /usr.
