Stackless is functionally ready for prime time (it's in use in a number of 
ventures, some commercial). It's API is not terribly friendly, but the main 
reason it's a pie-in-the-sky PEP is controversy over the changes to the 
core (in terms of comprehensibility).

It certainly builds (and works) on the mac. Not sure what pre-built 
releases are available.
