OS-specific modules to OS-specific packages

Would it be nice to keep all OS-specific modules of the standard library
in OS-specific packages? For example, Mac modules "macdnr", "mactty" and so
on could be become "mac.dnr", "mac.tty". Windows-specific modules could
become the part of win32 package: win32._winreg, win32.winsound and so on.
Unix modules can be separated further to distinguish various flavor of UNIX:
unix.syslog, unix.fcntl but unix.irix.fl, unix.sunos.sunaudiodev and so on.
