Sound recording (wav)

Hello,

I want to record a sound sample from the microphone. Can anyone give me a
small example of how to do this as I don't seem to figure it out. My
system is as follows:

Linux: 2.4.0
Python: 2.0c1


I just want to record to a wav file either using the Esd frontend for
python (which I have installed and which playbacks sound without problem)
or any other possible method (there are some wav methods in python but I
don't know if I can use them to record sound).
