OpenGL/GLUT in python

Have you checked out the GLUT demos included with PyOpenGL?
If you look at these demos and the C GLUT demos included with 
Mesa and C GLUT then things might be clearer.  The Python
wrapper of GLUT is very similar to the C version.  

You might try a Google search for PyOpenGL.
