For something that's possibly more esoteric than Erlang, try Mozart-Oz.
(http://www.mozart-oz.org)  It combines functional, object oriented,
distributed, and constraint-based programming into one single language,
and it's runnable on most flavors of UNIXes and Windows, as well.
