Unix Python Installation Troubles

I've inherited a bunch of Python scripts, and I'm trying to install
the freeware on my Unix machine. It looks like _tkinter can't be found
during the
make. It thinks that I'm running an old tk/tcl, when in fact I have
tk-8.0 ...!

I've included the Setup file, and the spot where the make blows up.

Can you help??
