Suggestion: Python tools book

Hamish,

There's a new book out from SAMS called "Python Developer's Handbook", by
Andre Lessa. It appears to cover a lot of these topics that you mentioned
and so you might want to check it out. I personally have not read this one
and so this isn't an endorsement of the book!
