That was it. Thanks very much: heaven alone know why that single key decided
to go AWOL, but it was missing from the registry.

Now I can use the recently-posted checkin modification too. Just need to
work out how to get VSS to ask for a checkin comment. Or have Pythonwin do
it and pass it through...
