Newbie, need tutorial D/L

Well, I borrowed a book called--here's an innovative title--"Programming with
Python" from the library, and it basically just offered up a quick reference of
commands and a ton of source code. I found this annoying, more preferring the
approach in the Programming Bibles, and especially ASM83GURU, if anybody's
heard of that before. guru has got to be the greatest tutorial I've ever seen.
