Build problems on IRIX (TRIX)

 |i have problems building the shared object files on IRIX computer, the
 |build failes with the following error message (example shows the
 |attempt to build fpectl.so - but it fails on all shared object files):

 |  ld -shared -all build/temp.irix64-6.5-2.1/fpectlmodule.o -L/usr/local/lib -o build/lib.irix64-6.5-2.1/fpectl.so
 |  ld32: ERROR   48 : Cannot access registry file ./so_locations (No locks available) - ignored.
 |  ld32: FATAL   51 : Can't assign virtual addresses for fpectl.so of size 10000 within specified range.  Please check your registry file ./so_locations.
