The mailing lists are on mail.python.org which is totally unaffected
by the outage.  Nothing should stop you from using the mailing lists!
Mail with an @python.org address (like mine) is also unaffected.

Only www.python.org, ftp.python.org, and search.python.org are
affected.

We're working on a new site, but it may be a few days -- CNRI's
backups are so incomplete that we've decided to clone one of the
mirrors to recover the data.
