UI options with win32com/Active-X: Tkinter?

What are my options to build the UI portion of a Python component? I
want to wrap an existing Active-X component (OCX) in some Python code
that includes a UI, and then embed the result into other Active-X
containers.

Can I use Tkinter? Must I use the MFC stuff available through
Pythonwin/pywin (the example code seems very low level and tricky)?
Other options?

Separately, should I switch to the new 2.0 release or wait a while? I
don't have much code currently.
