Shelve and Concurrent access

Hi,

Is there any way to use the shelve library and allow concurrent access
to the database without explicity using my own file locks on a unix
system? I saw a thread from July 1999 that seemed to indicate all I
have to do is recompile the bsddb module and change one header from:
#include <db.h> to: #include <db_185.h>. Is it really that simple?

Thanks,
Pete
