Good book for writing a C/C++ extension to Python

I wish to port the interface of a GUI kit written in C++ to Python,
unfortuanately I'm finding its API rather difficult to understand. Can
anyone recommend a good book on the subject of writing C/C++ extensions to
Python (rather than embedding it) ? Those I've seen on amazon.com all seemed
to have bad reviews, so I was put of getting one straight away.
