Can I connect to a DDE server?

Hi,
I'd like to know if it is possible (of course on Win) to send commands to a
DDE server (in my case it is ACDSee.exe) from python. And, if yes, how ?
I think yes as I have read on "Python Programming on Win32" that "PythonWin
uses DDE to
communicate between instances"... but I can't find documentation on how to
use it myself.
If someone could send me a small example...
