standalone programs

Folks

I am a novice python programmer with some experience in C++.  I'm 
trying to create a fully stand alone programme to put on systems 
where python is not installed.  For my sins, I'm working on a windows 
platform.  Can anyone give me an idiot's guide on how to do this, please?
I have tried using freeze but without much success. (I have VC++ installed)


Any help would be much appreciated
