Seems I have the 1.5.1 library reference.  My net access during this
year of exice in the US of A isn't as good as it used to be, so I tend
to be a bit tardy in getting the latest and greatest, whether it be
docs or software.  And what's more, the 1.5.1 docs say

atan2 (x, y) 
     Return atan(x / y). 

which now that I read it more carefully isn't wrong, it just tends to
lead your thoughts in the wrong direction.
