I was lucky when I was in your position - Lars Marius Garshol was just
asking for reviewers for his draft of his Python/XML book, and I got
to read it. It was very, very helpful ;-). Hope it gets published
soon. 

However, you're free to download my code - I use XML a lot in:

dbobj - the repository is XML based
kura  - webserver that takes XML templates and spews out HTML, and an
        XML data import utility.
kxml  - a small PyKDE xml file browser (unfinished!)
