Never mind! :)

I spent a good 20 hours tearing my hair out this weekend and it works
just fine now. :)

After looking at the Thread-SIG archives, I totally understand why
questions about this fall on dead ears... It's just an all around mess.

Maybe I'll write a HOWTO...
