Go to Guido's site and read about his desire to have a language that is
easy for non-programmers to learn. Python is not meant to replace C. It
is a scripting language that is easy to learn. It is intended to be what
it is. Look into what they are doing with it at Yorktown High in
Arlington, VA. This issue is not about making it easy for C programmers.
It is about a learnable language for those who do not want to or need to
learn C in order to take control of the software around them. It is
about empowerment.
