How do I wrap text?

It seems like there should be some very easy way to wrap long lines of
text.  What I am looking for is something like the Unix fmt utility, or
the Perl text module (which I can't remember the name of right now).  I
spent several hours today browsing the Python library reference, but
didn't seem to find the right module, if there is one.
