Do you have a link to how to get the result in Python marshalled dictionary
format? (I looked at the perforce website but couldn't find anything...)

And to the original poster, Perforce is great. Perhaps not as full featured
as e.g. ClearCase, but infinitely simpler to use and maintain, and very
useable over a network.
