New Features in Python 1.6

As I read Guido's announcement an increasing sense of unease
came over me. Then I saw the posting date. Ah, it must be an
April Fool joke. No, really ... It MUST be an April Fool Joke!

However (assuming it was a joke) some people seem to have taken
the bait and are quite concerned. Might it be a good idea now to
admit that it was a joke before more Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt
is spread?
