My favourite editor of 'em all is ultraedit. www.ultraedit.com It's
inexpensive and well worth the money.

It is pretty easy to edit the the wordfile to give it syntax highlighting
for python, and you can also make it run your scripts from the editor.

Everyone i know who has ever used it, has never used another editor on
windows...
