hey, I didn't know that was possible. thanks! :)
but it looks like it's only possible hide all functions at once, so I
think I'll test the latest emacs-mode as Randal Hopper suggested.
..once python.org gets back up, of course.

all in all, *emacs* has lots of shortcuts for handy things. I wish I
knew more about it.. :)
