It is only beta because of two reasons:

    1.  I want to wait a little longer for feedback regarding the
	win32, VMS, and OS/2 versons.
    
    2.  It depends upon slang 1.3.X which is a development version.  I
	want to release slang 1.4 before I release jed as non-beta code.

Under Unix, it appears to be rock solid with no serious problems
reported.
