language interpreters/ interpreted languages weaknesses?

It is harder to do type-checking for the whole program, because most 
interpreted languages also have syntax allowing more dynamic constructs
and require less declaration.

Beside from the other suggestions.

Basic, shell and lisp/scheme 
probably deserve mentioning.
