I am perfectly well aware that people run Python on platforms other
that Linux; this should be evident, given that I am in fact currently 
developing a tool(*) whose aims include the ability to make Python 
GUI applications more portable across platforms.

[*] on the subject of Parrot, my text-based GUI builder, I'm likely 
to have a working version of the Python/Tkinter backend up this 
weekend. Oh, and people who want to run Parrot on platforms other 
than Linux are welcome to do so.
