He would hire a human actor and communicate with the actor through a
miniature earphone, of course. A mini microphone would pass back what
the actor hears to the Timbot. 

How would the entity Tim Peters understand and generate speech? After all it
usually deals with Usenet postings in ASCII.

But then look at where it works. No coincidence!
