There have been a number of such articles; if you're asking whether
*you* should try Python, I'd recommend just going to
http://www.python.org/, downloading a copy, and working through the
tutorial.
If you're asking on behalf of other people, the starting point that I'd
suggest would be Guido's Computer Programming For Everybody proposal at
http://www.python.org/doc/essays/cp4e.html
