well, now that i think about it, i never wrote apps with command line
args in numerous quantities before, till i started writing perl
scripts years ago. so i guess in my case the Right Thing is simply
'thats the way i always done it'.

still, after /F's comment this morning, i had to strain my brain too
hard to try and imagine (creating) an app where arg order
mattered. all i could think of was tar -- and if i had written that
one myself, i'd like to think i would have ........
