Any advice for a beginner?

Hi. I just became interested in python over the past few days, as an easy
way to do CGI scripting and networking (as opposed to C, or M$'s expensive
Visual C++). I don't have too much experience, as I'm about halfway through
learning the basics of C right now. I'd heard that python was a great
language for beginners, and I downloaded the interpreter and have had fun
playing with it (not having to define every variable is great).

My point is this; it's a *huge* language, and I have no idea where to start.
I'm past "Hello, world!" and I don't know where to go next. Any advice would
be much appreciated.
