Building Python static lib in WIN32

Hello, I would like to know if anyone has built Python in Windows 95/98/NT
as a static lib instead of a dll. If anyone has I would like to know how
you set up your project workspace. I am using MS Visual C++ 6. I have
looked at the Python workspace included in the Win32 version of Python but
that is set up to build the .dll. As far as I know there is no way to
change that. I'd have to make a new project and add all the necessary files
but since they're all in different directories I'd like to know if anyone
has done this and has a project file I could use to simplify this. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Alberto
